Our Story

Central Baptist Church has been part of the Livingston community since 1852, when a small group of believers came together with a simple but powerful vision: to glorify God and serve their neighbors. We began gathering in shared church buildings with alternating services and times.  
 
As Livingston grew, so did the church. Over the decades, new buildings were added to meet the needs of a growing congregation and a changing community. In 1926, Central moved to its current location on U.S. Highway 190. The Family Center was added later  and in 2009, a new Worship Center was completed, creating space for Central to grow and to reach our community with the gospel.  
 
Through every season and lots of history, Central Baptist has remained committed to its mission: sharing the love of Jesus and making disciples. Whether through worship, community outreach, student and children’s ministry, or missions, our heart is to see lives transformed by the gospel—right here in Livingston and beyond.
